MONICA COLEMAN          Lets Talk Waterways title and return to home page
Monica Lynn Coleman

As an Associate with Public Sector Consulting Group, Monica Coleman's focus is on National and International environmental issues with an emphasis in waterway clean-up and marine wildlife conservation. Ms. Coleman's training and experience allows her to walk clients through the entire waterway clean-up process, including evaluation, strategic planning, grant writing and fundraising, education and outreach, and media communications, as well as maintenance relative to client's waterway clean-up goals. Ms. Coleman is also engaged in political strategic planning and lobbying efforts, both on a National and International level, to help maximize waterway clean-up efforts.

In addition to a degree from Johns Hopkins University in Economics and Finance, a law degree from the University of Maryland, and graduate studies in environmental industrial parks, hazardous waste and its impact on waterways, also from the University of Maryland, prior to making it her career goal, Ms. Coleman had been working philanthropically on waterway issues since the late 1980's. Recent intense studies through the Environmental Protection Agency's storm water management training program and Watershed Academy, further demonstrate Ms. Coleman's commitment and ability to secure knowledge in the most up-to-date technology and funding opportunities in waterway clean-up. Ms. Coleman's volunteer work with the Maryland Department of Natural Resource's Tributary Strategies Teams and their efforts to meet the Chesapeake Bay Agreement Requirements has provided Ms. Coleman with hands on experience in Watershed management.

In both waterway clean-up and in her marine wildlife conservation endeavors, Ms. Coleman's forte is found in her ability to help grassroots organizations utilize mainstream funding and technological support, as well as providing clients with a voice in government proceedings, as allowed for tax exempt organizations, in order to help them maximize their goal-achieving potential. Ms. Coleman's extensive background in communication with the media also assists clients in maximizing their outreach endeavors to target audiences.
